In the year 1993 in the heart of south-central los angeles in a section known as the jungles emerged the hip hop conglomerate known as 2000 crowz. Formed at 4812 coliseum, a location known as the twelve, these dedicated individuals were made up of emcees, dj’s, bboys, bgirls, graffiti artists and creative thinkers. This group of individuals came together with the idea of spreading a message of positivity, originality, creativity and spiritual awareness. The meaning of what the name of the crew is defined as follows:

• 2 = man and woman the basis of life
• 000 = spiritual, mental and physical cyphas which must be complete in order to achieve enlightenment
• Crowz = black birds (gods birds) carrying lost souls to heaven (higher consciousness)

To become a part of the original core of members any person who wanted to claim crowz had to pass an intiation by battling the originators and proving themselves as worthy.

After completing the creation of the idea of the meaning of 2000 crowz the members of the different attributes of the crew began to go out into the community and promote the message of the flock. There are approximately 35 original members who are the foundation of the base of 2000 crowz. As time passed more members were added and many who associated with crowz were considered extended family.

One of the ways that 2000 crowz showed respect and loyalty to one another was with an original handshake which was developed to give recoginition to the reference of brotherhood and love of the westcoast

 By how when the handshake was started by throwing up the “w”, locking hands and then when completed the “w” was being thrown up between the two individuals who were greeting each other.

In 2002 the crowz released their first official album ‘the moment they feared’ under the independent label verbal ruckus wrecords. Considered a timeless classic in the west coast hip hop underground genre the album features such members as phunky dialect, race of spades, untouchable soldiers, fame uno, big loot, black silver, flav the prizefighter, 2 steps beyond, dahnje and pharoe.

Being recognized as one of the most underated and influential crews to emerge from the west coast underground, 2000 crowz continue to forge ahead with a legacy by producing a hardcore hip hop sound that will continue to inspire for decades to come.
